Daoyun pavilion
Daoyun pavilion locates at Nanlian village, Sanrao town, Raoping country, established at late Ming dynasty and early Qing dynasty, is the biggest Hakka pavilion found hitherto in our country, has more than 400 years history. At the middle of door tower, write three big words ¡°Dao yun Pavilion, this is Nanking minister of rites Huang Jing write.
Dao yun pavilion conventionally called multi-storied building, octagonal, seat south face north, perimeter is 328 meters, height is 11.5 meters, wall thick is 1.6 meters, and total area is about 10,000 square meters. One color tile roof, so barrel use bamboo nail but not iron nail, no one girder or cotton eat in until now. Wall base only mat two layers green brick, wall body is ocher, still very well until now, and the stickiness and wear outclass today¡¯s cement. Inside house divided into three, total deep 28 meters, front, and middle is bungalow, middle and back each has a dooryard, although deep but ray enough. Back into is three layer high building, whole building has 56 square rooms, 16 corner rooms. Building center is the square scree spread inside is ocher, against south there is north-direct hall, two sides there are two public well, there are another 30 well at the boundary of wall, each house can get half and can drink water. Whole building possesses eight prevent functions: prevent arms chaos, village fight, fire, and hot and cold, earthquake. Dao yun pavilion has difference from other square or rectangle Hakka house in northwest Min and it takes octagon as representative. Ever more than 600 people lived in the building most, now still over 160 people living here.
In recently years, Dao yun pavilion as its unique ancient architecture attract lots of ancient architecture expert and visitor in and oversea come to research and tour. Since1998, Japan transport minister Shijing yazhi, Japan good and fast Air Lines, American scholar Normakem professor and Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hongkong, Taiwan and Beijing University, Zhongshan University ancient architecture expert come to research successively.
