Lin Daqin Tomb

Lin Daqin Tomb is at Sangpu hill Number one scholar house. Lin Daqin, word Jingfu, name Dongpu. Clover when he is a little child, like reading, go to city with his father when 12 years old, see 《Jia You volume》by Su Xun, founle admiringly, require his father buy it, read it day and night, later read articles by Su Shi and Su Zhe, so later his article like three Su, especially famous for opposite. When he is 18 years old, his father died, his family is poorer, he study very hard.

Take part in the examination when 20 years old, his writing 《Comment Li Gang ten matters, “Comment well and discuss extensively, and word is impassioned, read it fell loyal and anger interchange,” official Wu Lin praise: “Writing of this people must conquer the world”. In year 1532, Lin Daqing go to Beijing to take part in the examination, hired as twelfth successful candidate, and March in the next year take part in palace examination. He point time fraud in 《palace examination policy》directly, point out that “policy that bad for society” can summarize in “three superfluous”, that is superfluous people, army and expense. And bring forward eight suggestion that good for nation and people, that is “average filed, choose official, save expense, tap field, light levy, forbid extravagant, open benefit.” Praised as “good policy saying and sure to time statement” and emperor Jiajing deeply loved his article so appointed as No 1 scholar, later learn in Hanlin yard. In year 1535, his mother suffer disease and he get back to take care of his mother. During this time, he teaching in Huayan hill, and his mother died in year 1540, he is over grief and gets a serious disease. In year 1545 bury his mother at the foot of Sangpu hill, died in the return way, only 34 years old. Lin Daqin talent is excellent and write lots of works, later generation compile for him 《Dongpu collected edition》

Lin Daqing buried in Zhuangyuan pu. Tomb is hillock, face southwest. There is stele, about 3 meters high, chiseled the Eight Diagrams, engraved “Dongpu excellent city” on across forehead. Middle of stele writes: “No 1 scholar pass an imperial examination yard repair Pu Lin tomb”, right down corner, engraved, “Dutiful son sob to build this stone stele”. In front of tomb there is a pair of stone, which is 1.25 meters high, and 1.60 meters long horse and a pair of stone sheep is 0.66 meters high and 1.05 meters long.
