Huiqing Nunnery
Huiqing nunnery, at No 13 Fangjinf lane, Chaozhou, in 1667 A.D. monk Haidu, Haiyu razor and become a monk, recruit three rooms by Wu official gentleman, repair mold figure of Buddha, named Huiqing temple. In 1699 A.D., repair by government official, and set some farmland, named Huiqing nunnery. Engrossed as resident during culture revolution, abbot Shi Zhengyu repair in 1980, from year 1988 to 1989 Shantou Buddha Association ever hold bonze woman training class. With fulfill of religion policy, engross resident move out by batch. From year 1982 to 1999 repair for seven times successively, and then become the biggest nunnery of north city. Front is gate, middle is two floor storied-building, up is Buddha palace, down is guest hall; back is three floors storied-building, as Zhunti palace, house where sutras are kept, left two floor is respectively ancestor hall, Monk House, Dining hall in a Buddhist temple.
Culture relics in nunnery have one carved stone stele of Kangxi, Qing dynasty.
