Lailong nunnery
Lailong nunnery locates at No 24 Jueciqian Dongping road, Chaozhou, this is a nunnery that has more than 400 years history in downtown area. In middle period of Ming dynasty, woman whosurname is Xie of rich family, swear razor and become a nun, called Guohong. Her father and mother build this nunnery for her as cultivate doctrine place. According to epigraph inside nunnery: Rensheng in year 1932, Biqiu nun repair it. Yimo of year 1955 to Ximo of year 1991, abbot Shiweixing repair for five times successively, consummate each palace.
Dingchou of year 1997, Chuan Xin, Chuan Ran, Chuan Xian together publicize crowd to subscribe to repair in large scale, last a period of two years, trbuild former bungalow into two floor storied building, building area is from 650 square meters to 1,408 square meters, scale of the temple is complete, has nunnery gate, Yangcheng, Mile palace, The Shrine of Sakyamuni Buddha, House where sutras are kept, Chouguang palace, Guest Hall, Dining hall in a Buddhist temple, Monk House, become the biggest nunnery in city area.
Construction of the nunnery is classic elegant and magnific, environment is quiet and solemn, has plaque and couplet written by dignitary and contemporary painting and calligraphy artist everywhere. Calligraphy and painting of master Chang Rende of Huazong elders, Xinyin monk of Chaoyang Linshan Huguo temple, calligrapher Lian Deng, Dong Beizheng, Qing Daowo, Zeng Jingchong, Liu Congshan¡are full of two walls of guest hall, add dense Buddhism culture atmosphere, enter in Lailong temple, will feel is a famous spot for cultivating yourself to the doctrine. Couple write: ¡°Maze has quiet house and Buddhist site, world is big and d efend doctrine is happy¡±.
Couplet of Mile palace write: ¡°Indeed add beautiful sight to famous city, temple is the blessing field.¡±
There is a scroll on the wall of guest hall, write: ¡°Continue blaze and pass light¡±, is written by lineal descent gradson of Chaozhou famous painting and calligraghy artist Dian Jiemei, with ¡°Continue blaze and pass light¡± to praise Lailong temple, is extremely felicitous.
Former abbot of this temple is Weixing old Buddhism nun and surname is Chen, razor as nun in Nanhua temple, monk Dejie is Xuyun master, follow this master as Hongxiu Biqiu nun, appertain of the temple, ¡°Endless book¡± learn in nunnery, then know code of nun and monk, cultivate their self to the doctrine and progress very quickly. After return to Chaozhou to repair Lailong nunnery, Shi Weiguang together with to repair, it is hard but they insist on repairing.
Current abbot Shi Chuan Xin¡¯s cousinly Chuan Ran, Chuan Xian, Chuan Wen, are all apprentice of Weixing old Buddhism nun, are all abandon custom, and sent by Weixing old Buddhism nun to Shengjia training class and Wutaishan Pushou temple to learning, work hard and get brilliant achievement, after Weixing old Buddhism nun died, all the apprentice can try their effort to enlarge temple, achieve unfulfilled wish of predecessor; especially can diligent at Buddhism and inherit relique.
Morning and evening ceremony recite is in normal; recite has fixed class, (Kalendsm, fifteen reicite four mitzvah, eighth and twenty-three recite Bodhisattva mitzvah, and every year Feb Kwan-yin seven, from December Mile seven, fifteenth of July hold calyx orchid basin meeting, become fixed system. The most precious is: from April fifteenth to fifteenth July, follow Sakyamuni live in peace and resist on it.
